May 20, 2021 : Shot in Sheik Jarrah !

On that day, J🇨🇭 and A🇫🇷 were finally out of quarantine, I mean legally out. We had planned on going to have lunch with R🇫🇷 and some others in the city and get a vaccine shot later in the afternoon. About half an hour before we wanted to leave the Student village, we heard from friends that an hospital in the Sheik Jarrah neighborhood was vaccinating people and that there was no waiting line. I went there with J🇨🇭. It was a bit difficult to communicate with the people there as they spoke Arabic and not so much English, but in the end, we managed to get the shot. J🇨🇭’s very open and social attitude made the situation even better and the personnel was very nice. I hope you notice the irony of the situation. A few days before, Sheik Jarrah was the center place of riots and violence due to the expulsion of Arab families from their homes. It was in the place that everyone told us to avoid that we got a cure for a disease that has killed so many human beings in the past year. It was a correct decision to go there as the vaccination center we had decided to go to was actually closed. Because of that, we ended up eating all at different times and in little group. I ate lunch with J🇨🇭 in a Lebanese restaurant in the market and we got to know more about one another. Finally, here I am, fully vaccinated, and crazily enough, vaccinated before my father. Thank you, Israel !
